The preflop → postflop bridge

What happens when a line closes — terminal panels, coverage labels, and the "View flops" hand-off.

Every preflop line ends somewhere. The terminal panel states exactly where, and — when the ending is a heads-up flop — offers the bridge into the solved postflop family.

Terminal kinds

TerminalPanel
Everyone folds"{seat} wins {pot}bb — everyone folded, no flop is dealt." Walk back a step or reset the line.
All-in before the flop"The board runs out with no further decisions, so there is no postflop strategy to study here." Pot and line label shown.
Multiway flopLocked: "The solved postflop catalog covers heads-up pots only (N players here)."
Heads-up flopThe bridge card — below.

The bridge card

For a heads-up flop the card shows the line label, who is OOP and IP, and the geometry readouts: Pot, Eff stack, and SPR (effective stack ÷ pot).

If postflop coverage is served, the card turns green and the View flops → button links into /study/{family_id} — the family view with all 184 solved flops. Its subtext reads, e.g.:

Single-raised pot · BB (OOP) vs BTN (IP) — 184 canonical flops solved for this spot.

If not served, the button is visibly disabled and the card states the honest coverage level instead.

Coverage labels

Coverage is computed per boundary by the preflop extraction and served in the pack (strongest first):

LabelMeaningUI behavior
servedThe family's root pack is live in the v0-roots serving tier — GET /v1/families/{id} works today.Green card, active View flops link.
solvedBackbone flop solves exist for the family, but no serving pack has shipped yet.Locked — "Backbone flop solves exist for this spot — the serving pack has not shipped yet."
libraryThe spot is in the 242-spot arriving-range library only (ranges known, postflop not solved).Locked — "This spot is in the arriving-range library — postflop is not yet solved."
noneNo postflop artifact of any kind (e.g. non-BTN/BB heads-up pots, limped pots, all-in showdowns).Locked — "No postflop coverage for this boundary yet."

Coverage grows without an app release

Labels are baked into the preflop packs at extraction time, and the family catalog behind served refreshes as the root-extraction ETL uploads packs. See the runbook for how a label moves from solved to served.

Arriving ranges

Below the bridge, both heads-up arriving ranges render as 13×13 charts — the exact product of the taken-action frequencies along the line. These are the same ranges the postflop family's Preflop tab shows from the other side of the bridge.
